About Dolan, Besser & Geffre

The law firm of Dolan, Besser & Geffre is a general practice firm located in Litchfield, Minnesota. Litchfield is the seat of Meeker County and lies in the oak savannah region of central Minnesota – the area where the “big woods” met the “tallgrass prairie” of the north-central states – approximately 64 miles West of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The law firm is an offshoot of a former Twin Cities business and litigation firm. Founder William H. Dolan served through the 1980’s as Meeker County Attorney, and in 1990 he resigned and joined the Minnetonka-based firm – then known as Henretta, Cross & Ness – to serve as their business litigation counsel. The renamed firm, Henretta, Cross, Ness & Dolan, opened a satellite office in Litchfield that same year, to be managed by Mr. Dolan.

As the 1990’s progressed, the legal market changed and the Litchfield office became a wholly independent firm, ultimately changing its name to Dolan & Besser in December of 1999. In March 2022 Mr. Dolan sold the practice to associate Nicole Geffre (formerly Elj) as part of succession planning and to permit the firm to continue to provide innovative and timely legal services to the Litchfield area and surrounding communities. In April 2022 the firm changed its name to Dolan, Besser & Geffre to reflect Ms. Geffre’s ownership.

Our firm presently provides individual and business clients with high-quality personalized services in a number of areas. Our clientele ranges from individuals and sole proprietors to large national and international organizations.
